Jennifer Cummins launched Heiress Films in 2005, a boutique, independent production company that specialises in factual and entertainment programs for primetime audiences. Often transformational in nature, the films tell stories with sensitivity, heart and humour. Man Up – the 2016 ABCTV documentary series and campaign charted the journey of radio host Gus Worland as he discovered the link between the unacceptably high rate of male suicide in Australia and our Aussie male tradition of stoicism, the campaign ad garnering 58 million views worldwide. Positive Psychology based franchise Making Australia Happy which was accompanied by a highly successful website and book, has sold as an international television format, with Making France Happy produced for Channel M6. Making Couples Happy and Making Families Happy have also aired on ABC TV to critical acclaim. The long-running science format the Life Series – most recently Life at 9 (ABC TV) – tracks a group of Australian children from their first year of life, detailing their developmental and personal milestones. A Modern Mutiny – a tale about Norfolk Island, was a ratings hit for SBS in 2016 when screened as part of the Untold Australia strand.
